Introduction
  Qingdao University of Technology  is a comprehensive university with harmonious development in the subjects of science, engineering, economics, management, art and law, and majoring in engineering, characterized by mechanical, civil and environmental engineering.  
Qingdao University of Technology was founded in 1953 and is located in Qingdao, which is famous for its beautiful environment and pleasant climate. The University grounds cover more than 2,165,000 square meters, among which the school buildings encompass up to 1,003,400 square meters. The University consists of 19 schools (or departments), 21 research institutes, 39 provincial priority disciplines, laboratories and engineering technology research centers. The library has a collection of 2,070,000 books. Qingdao Technological University has2362faculty members, including 182 professors, 409 associate professors and over 413 teachers with doctorate degrees.
   Qingdao Technological University possesses a large number of high-level teachers and researchers. It has accumulated considerable experience in cultivating graduates and postgraduates through establishing a personnel system to develop teachers and researchers.
 
Study
Compulsory courses for Chinese language students and the undergraduate majoring in Chinese are usually conducted from 8:00 to 12:00 am every Monday through Friday, with elective courses held in the afternoon. International students enjoy national festivals and holidays of China and the summer and winter vacations of the university.
The university provides a tutorial course for the HSK exam taught by highly qualified teachers. These classes required an additional fee.
Enrollment Categories and Main Programs of Study
  Chinese Language and Culture Course
   This course is taught in Chinese and is composed of four study levels: Elementary Level (A), Elementary Level (B), Intermediate Level (C, D), and Advanced Level (E), offering the following courses: Intensive Reading, Spoken Chinese, Reading, Listening Comprehension, Chinese Culture, Chinese Writing, and Chinese Newspaper and Periodicals.
   Summer Chinese Language Course
   This is divided into Elementary Level, Intermediate Level, and Advanced Level, offering the following courses: Comprehensive Survey of Chinese Language, Spoken Chinese, Listening Comprehension, Chinese Culture, and Reading. These courses are held in Chinese.
   Activities: Laoshan Mountain tour, Sightseeing by boat, Visiting Qingdao Brewery and Lantern Festival etc. (Expenses are excluded)

How to Apply
 International students who intend to study at Q-Tech may contact the International Office of Q-Tech for the brochure and application forms. Q-Tech is responsible for the enrollment and management of international students. Group registration is especially welcome.
First, the applicants should ask for the application forms from the International Office of Q-Tech or download the forms from the website:
http://io.qtech.edu.cn/liuxuesheng_/y3.htm Second, personal information about the applicants must be filled in using block letter, and the application form, tuition fee, and other certificate materials should be sent to International Office at least one month before the opening day start of the school.
Third, any applicant admitted by Q-Tech will receive an Admission Notice, and Form JW202 from the International Office. The applicant admitted should bring the Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreigners to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China and apply for an X visa, and should have medical examinations in a hospital appointed by the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Physical Examination Record for Foreigner, and those who shall be in China for less than 6 months may apply for “F” visa, and needn't undergo a medical examination.
Arrival and Registration
International students must report to the International Office of Q-Tech with 8 passport type photos, the passport, Admission Notice, JW202 or JW201 and Physical Examination Record for Foreigner at the time specified in the Admission Notice. Those who fail to register without the prior consent of International Office will be considered as voluntarily giving up the enrollment and those who are unable to register at specified time must seek permission from the International Office.
Notes:
(1) All applicants should be at least 18 years of age and in good health.
(2) All certificates presented in the application should be in Chinese or English.
(3) Application materials and fees are nonrefundable, whether or not the applicants are accepted by the university. Cash or postal remittance should be used to pay the application fee; personal checks are not accepted.

1. Undergraduate and graduate students will receive a diploma upon passing all examinations and completions of all courses and will be presented a degree in accordance with the Academic Credential Regulations of the People's Republic of China.
2. Non-degree students will receive a certificate upon finishing their coursework.
